Microsoft Lync
IMPORTANT

This functionality is not supported on the Galaxy Mini hardware platform.

Introduction

By using Microsoft Lync on your desktop or your mobile device, initiating a call is a simple as the click of a mouse. The E-MetroTel UCX makes it happen with seamless SIP integration between traditional PBX telephony platforms and Lync collaboration application.

Configuration Steps

UCX Settings

There are two settings to configure on the UCX server:

  • SIP Settings
  • Trunks

SIP settings

  1. Open UCX Administration
  2. From the PBX tab, select PBX Configuration
  3. From the left side column, under Settings heading, select SIP Settings
  4. Scroll down to the bottom and add tcpenable = yes to the field Other SIP Settings
  5. Select the Submit Changes button

Trunks

  1. Open UCX Administration
  2. From the PBX tab, select PBX Configuration
  3. From the left side column, under Basic heading, select Trunks
  4. On the Add a Trunk page, which presents available trunk types, select the Add SIP Trunk link
  5. Fill in the required details and the following PEER Details, where 192.168.1.220 is the IP address of the Lync Server.

  6. Select the Submit Changes button
  7. Select Apply Config bar at the top to apply the configuration changes to the UCx server

Lync Server Settings

Configure Mediation Server

  1. Open Lync Server Topology Builder
  2. Under Lync Server, your site name, navigate to Lync Server 2013 -> Mediation Pools
  3. Expand Mediation Pools and right click on the Mediation Server listed and choose Edit properties
  4. Check Enable TCP Port and change TCP from 5068-5068 to 5060-5060

Create PSTN Gateway

  1. Under Lync Server, your site name, navigate to Shared Components -> PSTN Gateways
  2. Right click the PSTN Gateway node and choose New IP/PSTN Gateway
  3. Enter the FQDN name of the UCx and click next
  4. Leave the IPv4 set and click next
  5. Enter the Trunk name
  6. Set the Listening port to 5060 and choose TCP from the SIP Transport Protocol drop down
  7. Select the Associated Mediation Server and set the Mediation Server port to 5060
  8. Click on the Finish button
