Installation
Refer to the installation instructions for base station and handset.
Note that handsets need to have the plastic cover removed from the battery compartment and fully charged before use.
Connect to the Network
The DECT base stations will need to be connected to a Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch and a network that provides DHCP.
Access the System
To access the Web Configuration Interface of the system, there are two methods:
Method 1 – IP address
- Start with the handset in IDLE mode
- Press the Menu key
- Type *47*
- The handset will now enter scanning mode to find the nearest base stations. As soon as a base is found, the handset will display the MAC address of the base, together with its IP address.
- From a browser, type in the IP address of the base station.

Method 2 – MAC address
- This method requires an available DNS server.
- From a browser, type ipdect followed by the MAC address of the base station.

The default login username is admin and password is emetr0tel.
UCX Configuration
Create SIP Extension
Refer to Adding a SIP Extension for details on how to configure the UCX SIP extension parameters.
Galaxy AP500 Configuration
Use the Auto Provisioning Tool or follow the manual steps here.
Step 1 – Configure Server
Login to the Web Configuration Interface of the Base Station.
Click on Servers on the left navigation panel.
Configure the following fields:
- Server Alias – Enter a descriptive name for the server. (Limited to 11 characters.)
- Registrar – Enter the hostname or IP address of UCX with the SIP port number.
For example: 192.168.1.200:5060
Step 2 – Configure Network
Click on Network on the left navigation panel.
Make sure Keep alive time is less then the session time out. Recommend using value 50 as most typical lease time is 1 minute.
Set Use Different SIP Ports to Enabled only if connecting to UCX Cloud PBX. Otherwise keep it Disabled.
Click Save and Reboot.
Step 3 – Add Extension
Click on Extensions on the left navigation panel.
To add an extension, click on the Add extension link.
Configure the following parameters:
- Line Name – Enter a name for the line (This field is not shown on Galaxy AP500D)
- Extension – Extension number
- Authentication User Name – Extension number
- Authentication Password – Secret for the extension
- Display Name – Name to be shown on the phone
- Mailbox Name – Eextension number
- Mailbox Number – *97
- Server – Select the server created in Step 1.
Click Save.
The extension will now show up on the Extensions page. There is no handset assigned, hence you see the default IPEI FFFFFFFFFFFF.

Step 4 – Register Handset
This step is performed on the DECT handset.
- On the handset, click the Menu button. Three row of lines with a dot on the left side of the top row.
- Select Connectivity.
- Select Register.
- Enter Access Code that is found in the general Extensions page of the DECT base station (default is 0000).
- Once the handset is registered, the IPEI of the handset will be listed on the Base Station’s Web Configuration Interface.
- Verify the handset IPEI is associated to the correct extension. See examples below.

If the IPEI associated with the extension is blank or shows FFFFFFFFFF. Then click on the extension and manually select the desired IPEI.
