Hospitality Overview
NOTE

This functionality is not supported on the Galaxy Mini hardware platform.

Introduction

With a suite of the most powerful hospitality management features available combined with the ability to integrate with the most popular Property Management Systems, the E-MetroTel UCX platform puts total guest management under your control. And when you combine our hospitality application with the hundreds of native UCX features and applications you have a complete hospitality and business solution for both your guests and staff.

E-MetroTel hospitality solutions support a wide range of guest and administrative endpoints, including digital, analog, IP, and softphone-based deployments. Supported devices include E-MetroTel Infinity series desk phones, legacy hospitality and business telephones through our Green Migration technologies, the Infinity web client, and the Infinity 3065 desktop and mobile softphone clients for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. This flexibility allows hotels to modernize communications infrastructure while preserving existing endpoint investments where appropriate.

Note that when a UCX extension is leaving or retrieving a voicemail from the UCX voicemail system, the only information contained in the message envelope or mailbox greeting is related to the UCX extension/mailbox.  There is no information that specifically indicates a guest’s room number, as the Hospitality package allows for abstracting the actual room numbers from the extensions. Likewise. when calling to or from a digital or IP phone with a display, only extension information will be shown.

PMS Compatibility

E-MetroTel hospitality solutions support integration with leading Property Management Systems (PMS) using standard hospitality interface protocols, including FIAS-based and Mitel hospitality protocol interfaces.

Validated and certified PMS interoperability includes Oracle Hospitality OPERA and Infor HMS environments. E-MetroTel also supports Mitel hospitality protocol integrations commonly used in Mitel PBX migration environments, without requiring vendor certification.

FIAS-based integrations include native support for hospitality call posting and billing-related messaging functions. In Mitel hospitality protocol environments, optional HOBIC integration may be used to provide call accounting and guest billing functionality where required.

Determining Customer Requirements for Hospitality

When evaluating hospitality deployment requirements, the following items should be reviewed:

  • Does the property use a PMS platform utilizing Mitel hospitality protocols or FIAS protocol integration?
  • Does the property use a HOBIC system for call accounting or billing?
  • Does the property require web-based access for wake-up call administration?
  • How many guest room extensions are required, and what endpoint types will be deployed (analog, SIP, or XSTIM-based devices)?
  • How many administrative or common-area phones will be deployed throughout the property, and are these endpoints XSTIM digital, IP, or SIP devices?
  • If analog guest room phones are being used, is cabling centrally terminated in a single MDF, or distributed across multiple IDF/MDF locations?
