Prerequisites
- The Infinity phone MUST be on the latest SIP firmware version 2.0.4.6.24 or higher. If you do not have the current firmware version, upgrade to the current firmware version first before proceeding
- The phone must have access to the internet.
Step 1: Backup (Optional)
This is an optional step to back up the SIP phone configuration file, so it can be restored later if reverting back to SIP.
- From the web interface, navigate to Management -> Configuration page.
- Click Download BIN file and save the BIN file on your PC.
Step 2: Find Phone in Provisioning Tool
The following steps describe how to update the phone in the Cloud Provisioning Tool.
- Login to the Partner Portal with your partner account.
- From the Partner Portal, select Provisioning – Infinity Phones
- Click the + sign to expand Filter Items
- Enter the MAC Address (must include colons) of the phone and click APPLY button.
- The phone if found will be listed in the table below.
- Click on the Serial Number of the phone and update the mandatory fields (S1 IP and S1 Port).
- Click the APPLY button to save the changes.
NOTE
If the phone cannot be found in the tool, follow the instructions in XSTIM - No Touch Cloud Provisioning to register and assign the phone to its parent UCX.
Step 3: Configure Auto Update
The phone by default will have the following fields configured to access the E-Metrotel’s public repository.
Verify using the phone menu or the web interface that the fields are correct before proceeding to the next step.
- Upgrade Mode = HTTP or HTTPS.
- Firmware Server Path = repo.uc-x.org/infinity.fw
- Config Server Path = repo.uc-x.org/infinity.cfg
Step 4: Update to XSTIM
Power cycle the phone.
On booting up, the phone will automatically retrieve XSTIM firmware from the E-MetroTel repository and update the phone.
