DSM16 – System – Preferences

Date/Time

The Date/Time page allows you to view/change the time zone used by the DSM16 and to set the the current date if you are not using Network Time Protocol (NTP) settings..

The date, time and time zone configured on your DSM16 is used for several features:

  • The system time of DSM16 is used for the date and time shown on the display of digital phones connected to the DSM16
  • The system time of DSM16 is used for log files generated on the DSM16

Note that the DSM16 date and time is configured separately from the UCX.

  • The system time of UCX Server is used for the date and time shown on the display of IP phone configured through the Nortel Settings
  • The system time of UCX Server is used for CDR records and call log entries
  • The system time of UCX Server is used for log files generated on the UCX itself

If your DSM16 is configured to use NTP then you just need to set the correct time zone. If you are not using NTP, then make sure that the date, time and time zone are set correctly.

To set the date, time and time zone, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the DSM16 Administration
  2. From the System tab, select Preferences
  3. From the left side column, select Date/Time
  4. Use the drop-down list boxes beside the New Date label to set the current date
