1. Installation
E-MetroTel has introduced a new E1/T1 Gateway card to replace the Galaxy PRI card, bringing consistency to the user interface and operation across all the gateway cards.
The Galaxy E1/T1 card can be installed in any of the 11 slots within a Galaxy Expand chassis or either of the two Galaxy Express slots. A single chassis can support multiple E1/T1 cards.
- Disconnect the Power Supplies on the Galaxy Expand or the single Power Supply cord on the Galaxy Express from the power source.
- Insert the E1/T1 Card in one of the available slots.
- Re-connect the power supply cord(s) to the power source.
The default address for the LAN interface on the front panel is configured with a static address of 192.168.1.175 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and a gateway address of 192.168.1.1. The default WAN interface on the backplane defaults to DHCP.
2. Network Connection
Please refer to the Galaxy Expand – Initial Configuration for details on how to set up DHCP on the Galaxy server card prior to installing the E1/T1 card in either the Galaxy Expand or Galaxy Express chassis. The same document describes how to identify the IP address of the E1/T1 Gateway card after it has been powered on within the chassis. Note that the card requires DHCP service in order to obtain an IP Address.
3. Accessing the Card
From a web browser, enter the IP address of the E1/T1 card as configured in the preceding step. The default login credentials are:
- username = admin
- password = emetr0tel
E-MetroTel recommends the use of Chrome for access to the web-based device management user interface.
