Cisco – SPA504G Configuration For UCX

Step 1 – Factory Reset Phone

A factory reset of the phone will need to be done in case there are previous settings that could affect the configuration of the phone with the UCX.SPA504G_paper_button.jpg

A. On the phone, press the Paper “button”, or Settings button.

B. Navigate to the “Factory Reset” option and press “select.”

C. After Restart, phone will be successfully reset.

Step 2 – Determine IP Address

To do this, press the Paper “button” followed by the number 9. This will take you into the network settings. Option 2 on the display will show you the phone’s current IP address. DHCP or a static IP address can be set.

Step 3 – Access  Phone’s WEB GUI

Go to any browser equipped computer on your network and enter the address: http://<IP ADDRESS> (where <IP ADDRESS> is replaced by the address that was given to you in STEP 2).

Step 4  – Admin Login

Click on the “Admin Login” button near the top right side of the screen, then click on the “Ext 1” tab.

Step 5 – SIP Configuration

Refer to Adding a SIP Extension for details on how to configure the UCX SIP extension parameters.

Configuration – On the SPA504G

You need to modify only a few parameters from the factory default. Once done click on Submit All Changes and the phone will reboot.

  • SIP Port:   5060

  • Proxy: UCX IP Address

  • Register Expires: 3600

  • User ID: <Extension number from UCX>

  • Password: <Secret from UCX>
