There are two ways to perform a proper shutdown or restart of the UCX system:
- If you have physical access to the UCX system, you can use the Power button on the system to initiate the shutdown of a running system or startup of a powered down system
- You can use the UCX Administration Web GUI to shut down or to restart the UCX system
When you initiate shutdown or restart of your UCX system, active calls are dropped without any warning!
Please make sure that there are no active calls when performing these procedures.
1. Power Button
To turn off your UCX system using the power button, simply press the power button once to initiate the shutdown. The shutdown of the system takes certain amount of time – wait for the system to power down.
To restart your UCX system using the power button, press the power button once to initiate the shutdown. The shutdown of the system takes certain amount of time – wait for the system to power down. Once the system is off, press the power button again to start the UCX system.
2. UCX Administration
To turn off or restart your UCX system using the UCX Administration GUI interface, perform the following steps:
- Open UCX Administration
- From the System tab, select System Tools
- From the left-hand menu select Shutdown
- Select the desired action (Halt to stop the system or Reboot to restart the system) and press the Proceed button to initiate the action
- Wait for the system to power down or to restart
