Name lookup may slow down your PBX.
Overview
A Lookup Source lets you specify a source for resolving numeric CallerIDs of incoming calls, you can then link an Inbound route to a specific Lookup Source. The Phonebook page can be used to create the number to name association.
Configuration
To add a CID Lookup Source, perform the following steps:
- From the PBX tab, select PBX Configuration
- From the left side column, select CallerID Lookup Sources
- Enter a name under Source Description, this name will be referenced by the Inbound Route
- Select the Source Type from the pull-down list, the following types are supported:
- OpenCNAM
- Internal
- ENUM
- HTTP
- HTTPS
- MySQL
- SugarCRM
- Superfecta
- Press the Submit Changes button
Usage
Here is an example of how to use CallerID Lookup Sources to resolve incoming CallerIDs to names.
Step 1 – Create entries in Phonebook
Navigate to the Phonebook page and create entries in the phonebook.
Existing entries are listed at the top of the page.
To add a new entry, fill in the Name and Number, then press the Submit Changes button.
You can also import the entries from a CSV file. Press the Choose File button to select a file from your PC, then press the Upload button.
The CSV file must use the following format:
Step 2 – Create CallerID Lookup Source
Navigate to the CallerID Lookup Sources page, enter a name for the source under Source Description and select Internal for Source type.
Step 3 – Associate Inbound Route to Lookup Source
Navigate to the Inbound Routes page, add or edit an existing route.
Go to CID Lookup Source section, in the Source pull-down list, select the source that was created in Step 2.
