IVS - Deploying in a VMware Environment (draft)

The E-MetroTel Infinity Video Server requires at least 2 CPU threads and 4 Gibgabytes of RAM to providing conferencing services with external recording, or 4 CPU threads and 12 Gigabytes of RAM to provide video conferencing services and one server-based video session recording.

Pre-Requisites 

  • VMware ESX 5 environment or higher
  • VMware Web Client Server installed and operational (vcsa)
  • E-MetroTel OVF template files for the Infinity Video Server (provided by E-MetroTel)

Procedure

Step 1

Login to the VMware vSphere web Client.

Step 2

Right mouse click on the vSphere object where the UCX Virtual Server will be deployed and select Deploy OVF Template.

Step 3

On this screen select the location of the OVF template.

Step 4

This screen provides details of the OVF template. This image requires updating for Infinity Video Server details.

Step 5

Select the folder where the UCX Virtual Server is to be deployed.

Step 6

Select the Host to be used for this deployment.

Step 7

This page is where you choose the vmWare datastore to be used for this deployment.

Step 8

Now you must choose the vmWare Network Interface to be used for this deployment.

Step 9

This last screen allows you to review your deployment and make any changes before you press Finish.

Step 10

You can monitor the deployment of the OVF template in the Recent Tasks window of the vSphere Web Client.

Step 11

When the installation of the Infinity Video Virtual Server is complete you can adjust the resource settings to allow for more concurrent sessions (in conjunction with increasing the licensed users) or video storage.
