IVS - Configure Port Forwarding for Remote Access

Introduction

The Infinity Video Server is tpyically deployed within the customers' corporate network but may not be co-located with the customer's InfinityOne system.  Therefore, understanding the ports used for different types of traffic between the InfinityOne system, the Infinity Video Server, and the users inside and outside the custoemr network is important for ensuring the appropriate traffic can pass from one network segment to another.

This document focuses on the steps necessary to enable support for video functionality, accessing the Video Conferencing interface, the the Web-based Configuration Utility, and SSH access (if required) from the internet across the customer router.

Port Forwarding Requirements

In order to enable access to your Infinity Video Server from the public network, including , you should configure your router to forward the following ports to the IP address of your UCX Server:

Rule Name
Port Number
Port Type
Secure Web Server (HTTPS) 443 TCP
Web Server (HTTP) 80 TCP
SSH 22 TCP
Conference HTTPS 8443 TCP
Room Info Endpoint 5280 TCP
Websocket 9090 TCP
Private Video Bridge 8080 TCP
Video Bridge 3481 UDP

You should also make sure that the video server has external access to both HTTPS (TCP 443) and DNS (UDP 53) in order to retrieve licensing and software updates and resolve any additional URLs as required.
