Activating an IAD-based Analog Gateway Card
Analog Card Activation Requirement
When you first log in to any of the FXS, FXO, or FXO/S Analog Gateway cards that are operating on IAD firmware, the card can be configured even while un-activated. However, the card is not functional for making or receiving calls until the it has been activated on the Serial Management Tool in the MetroTel Partner Portal. Once the card has been activated, communication can commence. Furthermore, the activation establishes the effective date of the card warranty.
Until the card is activated, the Status / System Information page will display the following warning in the Activation information section:
Activating an Analog Gateway Card
Note: Activation requires an active internet connection between the Analog Gateway card and the E-MetroTel Partner Portal Serial Management tool. Depending on your LAN topology, it may be necessary to configure Connection Sharing on the UCX to allow the Analog Gateway card to connect to the internet. Refer to Network Parameters for configuration details.
To activate the card:
- Navigate to the Status / System Information page.
- Scroll to the Activation Information section
-
Click the Activation button and an Activation screen will pop-up
-
Include the details of the Site Name, Customer Name, Customer Email, Customer Phone Number
- Click on the Confirm button
-
The Analog card will register the information with the Serial Number management tool, the information will be recorded into the configuration interface, and the card will be activated and able to make calls if already configured.
