The InfinityOne Mobile client is a component of E-MetroTel’s client communications portal, InfinityOne, providing access to InfinityOne team based messaging, softphone, and file sharing collaboration features. The Mobile Client Interface is a very effective solution for users that want or need flexible mobility for both the InfinityOne messaging and softphone capabilities.
- Simultaneously connect to multiple InfinityOne servers
- Stay logged in, and continue to receive notifications, when you close the main window
- Application badges to easily see when you have outstanding notifications
- Native iOS notifications
- Always-on access to both softphone and messaging
Both the Web Browser and Mobile client interfaces operate in a software environment that can be updated without any specific actions being taken by the user. Occasionally those changes lead to issues with the InfinityOne user interface, potentially causing issues such as loss of speech path (in either direction), changes to audible call alerting or other impacts to call handling or feature operation that is outside of E-MetroTel's immediate control. E-MetroTel makes every effort to update our software as quickly as possible when these planned or unexpected third party changes occur.
Step 1 – Installation
Download the Mobile client to the mobile device
A single InfinityOne user can log into multiple instances of the app on their devices. If there is a need for each device to always be active for receiving calls, then each device must use a separate extension license. If the user is going to have just a single extension, they can use hotdesking to temporarily assign their extension to different devices while they are using it. For example, the extension may originally be configured/assigned to a Browser softphone while the user is sitting at their desk, but they can open the iOS app on the phone and hotdesk the iOS softphone to that extension when they decide they want to use their iOS device for mobility.
iOS devices
For the iOS version of the InfinityOne Mobile client, the device must be operating iOS version 11 or higher.
The iOS app is located on the Apple Store and can be freely downloaded on as many devices as you wish. You can find it in the store by searching for infinityone or emetrotel, or you can copy and send this link to your iOS device. You may also copy and send this QR code where users can scan it from their PC or another phone:
Android Devices
The Android client requires a minimum of Android 6.0 to run, although full integration of voice capabilities requires Android 9. A client running on Android 8 will have full access to the messaging and video components; while softphone functionality is supported, users will only receive incoming call notifications while the phone is unlocked and the app is running in the foreground. Conflicts between native Android voice calls and the InfinityOne audio path can occur.
The Android client is available for download on the Google Play Store for use on supported InfintinyOne Server releases. It can be found here, or you can search on infinityone or emetrotel.
The Android app status has been updated to Generally Available as of version 1.0.9. E-MetroTel recommends that all users update to this latest release using the link provided above.
Step 2 – Connect to Server
The mobile client allows you to connect to one or more servers.
