VTech SIP Hotel Phones


VTech SIP hotel phones allows guests to make the most out of their hotel stay with a phone that balances style and functionality. The ergonomic design encourages productivity with seven hours of cordless battery talk time (for cordless models), USB charging port (for contemporary SIP models), full-duplex speakerphone, and conferencing feature buttons such as hold, mute and flash.   

Key features include:

  • Antibacterial plastic tested to inhibit 99.9% of bacteria growth
  • USB Charging Port (for contemporary SIP models) to charge the guest's smart phone and other electronic devices
  • Remote Configuration allows programming of speed dials and other network parameters to avoid disturbing the guest
  • With the touch of a  button, the base speakerphone makes hands-free conversations easy
  • Up to 10 different guest services buttons to reach a desired destination quickly


WARNING: E-MetroTel has been successful in creating interoperability with the referenced phone using our open SIP Standards implementation. E-MetroTel is not responsible for maintaining interoperability support should the manufacturer modify the behavior of their SIP implementation in subsequent releases.

STEP ONE: On the UCx Server

  1. Login to the UCx Web-based Configuration Utility
  2. Navigate to PBX - PBX Configuration - Extensions page
  3. Add an Extension for a Generic SIP Device with the following basic parameters:
    • User Extension (e.g. 101) 
    • Display Name
    • secret
  4. Click on Submit to create the extension
  5. Press the Apply Config bar at the top

STEP TWO: On the Vtech SIP Phone

Refer to Vtech's Configuration Guide for Hotel SIP phones on how to access the phone's WebUI.

  1. Login to the WebUI of the phone
  2. Navigate to Phone Configuration - SIP Account Settings page
  3. Enter the following basic parameters:
    • Extension - Enter the User Extension from STEP ONE (e.g. 101)
    • Authentication Name - Enter User Extension from STEP ONE (e.g. 101)
    • Password - Enter the secret from STEP ONE 
  4. Set the prefix for external calls in the External Call Prefix field. A secondary dial tone is generated when the prefix is dialed.
  5. The SiP Registration Status will indicate Unregistered. (When the phone successfully registers to the UCx Server after all the steps in this section has been executed, this status will change to Registered.)
  6. Click on the Save button​ and wait for the update process to complete.
  7. Navigate to Phone Configuration - Advanced SIP Settings page
  8. Enter the UCx Server IP address and Port number in the Registrar Server Address:Port fields.
  9. You need to configure the Dial Plan and Interdigit Timeout fields to provide a good phone experience for the end-user. The entire dial plan needs to be entered as a single string, each dial plan separated by the "|" symbol. (See example below.)

  10. Press the Save button and wait for the update process to complete.
