E-MetroTel is excited to announce the BETA release of its integrated support for IP-based DECT communication, a major enhancement in our Green Migration strategy. This update focusses on supporting Panasonic DECT base stations and handsets, complementing our existing support for Panasonic’s digital (DT series) and IP (NT series) phones. It effectively eliminates one of the remaining barriers to a seamless Panasonic migration.
What’s New in this release:
With the new UCX Integrated IP DECT software:
- Panasonic DECT base stations (NS-0154 series) can now be registered on the UCX system
- The system supports the configuration of a primary Master and two Backup Masters, plus additional base stations, following Panasonic’s original engineering rules.
- Panasonic DECT handsets can now be assigned as XSTIM extensions allowing users to enjoy full roaming between base stations within a single LAN Synchronization Group.
Why This Matters:
- E-MetroTel Green Migration: With the addition of UCX support for IP DECT solutions, your organization can extend the lifecycle of existing investments in DECT equipment while migrating to E-MetroTel’s latest unified communications technologies with minimal disruption.
- Enhanced Resilience: Roaming between DECT base stations ensures high availability and coverage, often providing superior in-building mobility performance compared to traditional WiFi radio technology.
- Simplified Management: With the introduction of IP-based DECT communication support, the UCX provides consolidated management of DECT communication as an integrated component of our UCX platform, streamlining overall telephony management and enhancing operational efficiencies.
