NOTE
Do not operate the system without the cover for a duration exceeding five minutes. It is recommended that you always use a static mat and static strap while working on components in the interior of the system.
Step 1 – Getting the UCx450 ready for card installation
- Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.
- Rotate the latch release lock counter clockwise to the unlocked position.
- Hold the cover on both sides, pressing your thumbs on the latch release lock and the indent, slide the cover toward the back of the system.

Step 2 – Installing the Interface (expansion) card
- Unpack the expansion card and prepare it for installation. For instructions, see the documentation accompanying the card.
- Locate the expansion-card connector on the riser.
- Lift and rotate the expansion-card latch and remove the filler bracket.
- Holding the card by its edges, position the card so that the card-edge connector aligns with the expansion-card connector.
- Align the expansion-card bracket with the hook on the chassis.
- Insert the card-edge connector into the expansion-card connector until the card is fully seated.
- Close the expansion-card latch.
Ensure that the expansion card is properly seated along the chassis, so that the expansion-card latch can be closed.

Step 3 – Closing the System
- Place the cover onto the chassis and offset it slightly toward the back of the system so that it aligns with the notches and lays flush on the chassis.
- Slide the cover toward the front of the chassis until it locks in position.
- Rotate the latch release lock in a clockwise direction to secure the cover.
- Reconnect the system to the electrical outlet and turn the system on, including any attached peripherals.
- Once the UCX server is powered up, the new Interface Card will be automatically detected. See PSTN Cards in the Administration Guide for details.
