DG – System- Updates

Software Update

E-MetroTel provides software updates for its products using an on-line repository. You can use this on-line repository to obtain patches and/or new software releases.

Update Software from Administration

To update installed software packages from online repositories, perform the following steps:
  1. Open the Digital Gateway Administration
  2. From the System tab, select Updates
  3. Press the Check For Updates button to query software repositories for updated packages. The hour-glass icon and the message Checking repositories – please wait… is displayed while this query is in progress.
  4. If no updated packages are found, a popup message is presented indicating that your system is up-to-date.  If updates are available, a list of packages is displayed and the button Update Software is enabled.
  5. Press Update Software to update the software packages. The hour-glass icon and the message Updating packages – please wait… is displayed while installation of updated packages is in progress. Wait until the installation process is finished.
  6. Upon completion of the software update the message Update successfully completed appears.

Packages

To add software package(s) from the on-line repository, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Digital Gateway Administration
  2. From the System tab, select Updates
  3. From the left side column, select Packages (displaying the list of packages may take several seconds)
  4. Press the Repositories Update button to retrieve the latest information about packages available for your UCX Digital Gateway.
  5. Press the Show Filter button to display search options.
  6. Enter a partial name of the package you want to install in the Name field
  7. Set the Status control to All.  A list of packages that matches the partial name is displayed.
  8. Press the Install link beside the package you want to install to initiate the installation.
  9. Wait until the procedure is completed.

To remove installed software package(s) from your UCX Digital Gateway system, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Digital Gateway Administration
  2. From the System tab, select Updates
  3. From the left side column, select Packages (displaying the list of packages may take several seconds)
  4. Press the Show Filter button to display search options.
  5. Enter a partial name of the package you want to remove in the Name field and press the Search button. A list of packages that matches the partial name is displayed.
  6. Press the Uninstall link beside the package you want to remove to initiate the uninstall process.
  7. Wait until the procedure is completed.
