The instructions on this page provide details of how to set up the Galaxy T1/E1 gateway card to interact with 3rd party T1/E1 gateway cards.
Prerequisites
- Access the Galaxy T1/E1 gateway card Administration pages via Web browser.
- The username and password of the SIP trunk.
- PRI crossover cable
Connect T1 Cable
Connect PRI crossover cable to the Galaxy T1/E1 card on the E1/T1/J1 port and to the 3rd party’s T1/E1 card.
Configure Galaxy E1/T1 card
The Galaxy T1/E1 must be configured as the Network Side, while the 3rd party PBX T1/E1 should remain configured as Customer Premises Equipment (CPE).
Step 1 – Port Settings
- Navigate to Trunk Settings : Port Settings page.
- For Timing Source, select Local.
- Click Save.
Step 2 – PRI Settings
Match the switch type that the 3rd Party PBX system is using.
- Navigate to Trunk Settings : PRI Settings page.
- Under the Action column, click on Edit
- For Signaling Type, select Network Side
- For Switch Type field, select National ISDN 2
- Click Save
Step 3 – Profiles
The example below uses Profile 1.
- Navigate to Profiles : Profile 1 : SIP Settings page, Basic Settings tab.
- For SIP Primary Server , enter sip-us.emetrotel.net.
- For SIP Primary Server Port, enter 5060.
- Click Save.
Step 4 – SIP Trunk
- Navigate to Trunk Settings : SIP Trunk page.
- Click Add to add a SIP trunk.
- Trunk Number – select the next available number from the drop-down list.
- Profiles – select the profile configured from the previous step.
- Enable Registration – select Yes
- SIP User ID – enter the username provided with your SIP trunk.
- Authentication ID – enter the username provided with your SIP trunk.
- Password – enter the password provided with your SIP trunk.
- Click Save.
Step 5 – Tel-to-IP Route
- Navigate to Profiles : Tel->IP Route page.
- Click Add button to add a new route.
- For Call Source Type, select PRI Trunk Port.
- For Call Source, select Port-1.
- For Call Purpose, select the trunk number created in Step 4.
Step 6 – IP-to-Tel Route
- Navigate to Profiles : IP->Tel Route page.
- Click Add button to add a new route.
- For Call Source Type, select SIP.
- For Call Source, select the trunk number created in Step 4.
