Connection to Network
The DECT base stations will need to be connected to a Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch and a network that provides DHCP.
Accessing the System
To access the WEB GUI of the system, use the IP address that the base station got from the DHCP server and access using http. The format is http://IP address of base station. When first accessing the WEB GUI, the creation of a new password will be prompted.
Create SIP Extension on UCX
Refer to Adding a SIP Extension for details on how to configure the UCX SIP extension parameters.
Galaxy AP500 Series Pages
Servers
Enter the following fields:
- Server Alias (descriptive name of server, limited to 11 characters)
- Registrar (IP address of UCX and SIP port number. For cloud based systems, 5960 is used)
Extensions
- Line Name (name of extension, option not shown on Galaxy AP500D)
- Extension (extension number)
- Authentication User Name (extension number)
- Authentication Password (secret of the extension)
- Display Name (name shown on phone)
- Mailbox Name (extension number)
- Mailbox Number (*97)
- Server (select the UCX server created)
Add Handset
Adding a handset to the Galaxy AP500D and Galaxy AP500M is different on how to add a handset, but the configuration is the same.

Handset configuration
After an extension has been created, a column of IPEI is shown. A text of FFFFFFFFFF with an underline will be shown that is a link to redirect you to the register handset page.
- IPEI (Enter the IPEI of the DECT phone)
- Click Save to submit configuration
Register DECT Phone
After the handsets have been registered, connection and registration of the DECT phone to the base station will be done.
- Click on the Menu button. Three row of lines with a dot on the left side of the top row.
- Select Connectivity
- Select Register
- Enter Access Code that is found in the general Extensions page of the DECT base station
Register SIP
On the Dect base station, the registration of the SIP extensions will need to be done. This allows the DECT phones to be able to make calls on the UCX.
- Go to Extensions page on DECT base station WEB GUI
- Select the extension’s checkbox (For the Galaxy AP500M, select the checkbox next to the column labeled VoIP Idx)
- Click on Start SIP Registration(s)
Galaxy AP500D on Cloud Systems
For SIP extensions to be registered to a UCX cloud system on a Galaxy AP500D, the Local SIP port needs to be changed to 5960 on the Networks page of the base station. Then, click Save and Reboot.
